Stockport Alternative Market was launched in September 23 on a shoestring by some local artists who felt like the town needed something going on that’s a little bit different to everything else. A few events later , and it’s clear to see they have not only built an affordable platform for independent businesses to showcase their talents, they have also built a community. Their vision has come to life, where those who like quirky, spooky, gothic and unusual things can come together and shop, have a drink, eat and socialise. All with an eclectic mix of alternative music covering genres like post punk, new wave, metal, grunge and rock. A big focus is on the events being inclusive, friendly and diverse. Everyone is welcome, and accessibility is a big priority.
